The First Philanthropy By Students Worldwide For VietNam

The Build-a-Bridge project builds bridges to bring connection to towns and parishes in the Mekong Delta region in southern Vietnam that are divided by the distributaries of the Mekong River. We work closely with local administrations to assess the needs of each community and how to help locals benefit most from the bridges we construct.

Who: Many secluded communities that are in desperate need of our help.

Where: Our initial focus will be the Mekong Delta area in South-East Vietnam.

Working Model: We will contribute 70% towards the total expenditure of the bridge, while the local commune and government will be responsible for the remaining costs. This can be money or supplied through providing labour, transportation, accomodation and meals for construction workers, amongst other things. This synergetic arrangement works to instill a sense of responsibility as well as achievement in the people as they will be able to own the fruits of their labour, and ensure that they will appreciate and preserve the bridge better for future generations.
