Opening ceremony of Nam Phuong Foundation

January 8th , 2014 – Nam Phuong Foundation (NPF) officially launched at MOB bar, 152 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, HCMC with the presence of senior authorities, media, celebrities & philanthropists.

During the event, Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh, Representative of Internal Affairs Ministry presented a “Decision on Acknowledgement of Sufficient Conditions for Operation” and recognized Board Council Members of NPF.

Within 2 hours of the official announcement, the fund received an impressive donation amount of more than 3.6 billion VND. This is a good sign for NPF with its long-term ambition as well as a good motivation for students to keep working on their “bridge-building dream”. A special thanks to Mr. Tran Le Nguyen (General Director of Kinh Do) for his generous donation of $100.000 to NPF.

The total amount donated in the opening event is equivalent to 9 small bridges for children and people in rural areas.

Also in Opening Ceremony, the 16 year-old student, Dinh Ba Khang – Operation Director of NPF announced the plan to build the first bridge of the year in Cai Be, Tien Giang, “Mot Thuoc Bridge”

NPF is a charitable organization made up of students from all over the world which was established and now managed by Nam Phuong, student of Oxford university. All members are so young but they dare to think, dare to do and they did it. They believe “1+1” is greater than “2”. This means when someone shares the information about the Foundation to one of their friends, there are more than 2 people to become aware of it. Therefore, by sharing the information, we awareness.
